TRAFFIC ISLAND ON WEYDON LANE - WHY IS IT DANGEROUS? 1) The traffic island has made the roadway narrower, resulting in less room for large vehicles such as buses and trucks to pass parked vehicles safely. 2) How many times have you seen small or large vehicles navigate over to the wrong side of the road, trying to avoid hitting parked cars near the traffic island? Legally, they are breaking the law. Perhaps you have done this yourself? Legally, you are breaking the law. We have seen it done many times - see below for just a few examples. Very large trucks sometimes have no choice but to drive around the traffic island on the wrong side of the road - serious accidents are just waiting to happen. It's just a matter of time before someone is either seriously injured or killed - let's hope it is not you - or a cherished family member - or a close friend - or one of your neighbours! Time will tell. |
