Weydon Against Speed Bumps

WEYDON AGAINST SPEED BUMPS (WASB):  We are a new, local community, action group attempting to have the Speed Bumps removed from Weydon Lane, Wrecclesham, Farnham, Surrey.  Please help us to help you - we can get them removed with your support.

SPEED BUMPS:  The Speed Bumps traffic calming measures proposed and introduced in 2002 have been a great source of pain, stress, inconvenience, damage and a great waste of Council Tax money to many people in the Wrecclesham, Farnham community and visitors to Weydon Lane.  When I personally viewed the traffic calming plans on 12th March 2002, I knew there would be problems ahead and this has proved to be correct.  We are not alone with or views - the Speed Bumps should be removed as a priority and as soon as possible.  Please sign our petition or send us an email to help us to help you.

PAIN:  The main objection we have to these unnecessary Speed Bumps is the pain and anguish caused to some drivers and their passengers when driving over these obstacles - I myself have seen that surgery pain is severely aggrevated when driving over these Speed Bumps - you may have seen me or my friends driving along Weydon Lane at extremely slow speeds, crawling over the Speed Bumps with our hazard lights flashing, allowing other cars to pass by - we apologise for any inconvenience.  The pain caused to surgery patients, disabled people and back injury sufferers, when driven over these Speed Bumps, could easily be relieved by removing these unwanted Speed Bumps.  If you, your family or friends have also had problems with pain while driving over these unnecessary road obstacles, please sign our petition to have them removed.  You can make a big difference by signing the petition - please sign it and help us to help you

ACCIDENTS:  The traffic calming measures have actually caused accidents, probably with more to come unless the obstacles are removed.  I myself have seen ambulances called out to one accident when the Speed Bumps were actually being constructed - what a waste of our Council Tax money, ambulance time and expenses, and distress to the accident victims that was - all avoidable if the Speed Bumps had not been built.


DAMAGE:  As seen from the above pictures of a Speed Bump on Weydon Lane, cars have been damaged by driving over these obstacles - our own car's exhaust system was damaged by driving over these Speed Bumps and, due to having to change vehicles, made us late for a loved one's funeral.  Has your car been damaged yet?  These dangerous and unnecessary obstacles should be removed as a priority and as soon as possible.
